51St Daytime Emmy Awards To Be Broadcast Live On CBS

Producers of TV show "Call My Agent!" win an Emmy award in 2021 in New York, U.S.

The 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards have been scheduled to take place on June 7, as announced by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) and CBS. The prestigious event will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET, with a delayed airing for the Pacific Time zone.

This year marks the 18th time that CBS will be airing the Daytime Emmy Awards, making it the network with the most broadcasts of the event. The ceremony is set to be held at the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles.

While specific details such as the Lifetime Achievement honoree, nominations, and host are yet to be revealed, they are expected to be announced in the upcoming weeks leading to the event.

Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS, expressed excitement about the return of the Daytime Emmy Awards in June and the continued partnership with CBS to honor the exceptional individuals who contribute to the success of daytime television.

Since its inception in 1974, the Daytime Emmy Awards have been a platform to recognize outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts. The awards cover a wide range of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, culinary, and legal/courtroom programs.

In a recent development, NATAS and the Television Academy announced a realignment of the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to be organized by content genre rather than program airtime, starting in 2021.

Looking ahead to the 2024 awards show, it has been confirmed that NATAS and Associated Television International (ATI) will be producing the event. ATI has prior experience producing the Daytime Emmy Award ceremonies on The CW in 2009 and on CBS in 2010, 2011, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

The executive producers for the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards will be Adam Sharp and Lisa Armstrong from NATAS, along with David McKenzie from ATI.
