€51k worth of drugs seized at Shannon Airport

Revenue seized €51k worth of drugs during routine operations in Shannon Airport today.

The first package contained over half a kilogram of the drug in loose powder form and is estimated to be worth roughly €10,400.

The package was sent from Austria and was to be delivered to an address in Tipperary.

The second package contained two 1kg vacuum packed blocks of Kratom and had an estimated value of €40,600. This package came from Luxembourg and was to be delivered to an address in Mayo.

The drug seizures are currently being investigated.

Revenue are currently undergoing work to target the illegal importation of drugs.
