A further 64 people with coronavirus have died in Nottinghamshire in the past week.
While health experts in Nottinghamshire say the they are beginning to see "green shoots", they urged people to avoid getting complacent at such a pivotal time in the coronavirus pandemic, particularly as the more transmissible Kent variant has now become the dominant strain.
Dr Andy Haynes, executive lead for the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System, said deaths from Covid-19 had started to decline in hospitals after roughly a month.
He did, however, emphasise there are "still a lot of poorly people in hospital" during a public health briefing on Friday, February 19.
Speaking of the situation he said: "We are beginning to see some green shoots. It's the first time since August that all of the indicators we look at on a weekly basis which tell us how the healthcare system is holding up are now green.
"It's quite a few months that we have had areas that are red or amber. Covid admissions are down however we still have more than 500 people in our beds, which is about the same level that we saw at the Autumn peak and still 75% higher than the April peak.
"There are still a lot of poorly people in hospital and the intensive care is still experiencing significant pressure but we expect that will work through.
"Deaths in the last seven days were down to 64, and in the last couple of weeks we were running at over 100 for the last three or four weeks and then six or seven weeks ago were were down at the 50 level.
"Thank you to all of the staff who continue to see us through this stage of the pandemic."
