The jobs of nearly 500 paper mill workers were hanging in the balance again last night after takeover talks collapsed.
Negotiations with a preferred bidder for Aberdeen ’s Arjowiggins Stoneywood plant have been going on since March.
But yesterday, administrators said negotiations had ended without a sale.
FRP Advisory said: “Discussions will now be progressed with the MBO team, Scottish Enterprise and other interested parties over the coming weeks to explore whether a sale can be secured.”
They added that in the meantime it is “business as usual”.
North East Labour MSP Lewis Macdonald called on the Scottish Government to explore an MBO.
