50 players Titans could target on Day 2 of 2020 NFL Draft

Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft will take place on Friday night and the Tennessee Titans have two selections to make in total through the two rounds, assuming they don’t make any trades.

The Titans have one pick in the second round (No. 61) and one in the third round (No. 93). We’re going to take a look at some players the Titans can target to fill some of their biggest needs, broken down by position.

Of course, some of these players could be taken with the Titans standing pat in either round, while others would likely have to be acquired by trading up.

However, after some of the wacky events of Thursday night, we can’t rule anything out, hence casting such a wide net of possibilities for the Titans.

Note: Prospects are not listed in any particular order.

Cornerbacks

Many of us thought the Titans would go with a cornerback in the first round because it is the team’s biggest need, but general manager Jon Robinson opted for offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson instead.

Tennessee still has a need at cornerback, and particularly in the slot, so I would expect Robinson to try fill the void with his second-round pick.

Here are some prospects that could play in the slot and/or on the outside, both now and in the future, that are still on the board.

Kristian Fulton, LSU

Jaylon Johnson, Utah

Amik Robertson, Louisiana Tech

Cameron Dantzler, Mississippi State

Trevon Diggs, Alabama

Bryce Hall, Virginia

Darnay Holmes, UCLA

Troy Pride Jr., Notre Dame

Reggie Robinson, Tulsa

Lavert Hill, Michigan

Defensive line

At the very least, the Titans need to add some depth to their defensive line after the departures of Jurrell Casey (trade) and Austin Johnson (signed with the Giants) this offseason.

It’s also possible that the Titans could be looking at filling a starting role for 2021 if DaQuan Jones, who is set to be a free agent next offseason, leaves.

These are the best of the bunch of defensive linemen that could be taken in either round on Day 2, although some of them might require a trade up in the second round to acquire.

Marlon Davidson, Auburn (Can play EDGE also)

Justin Madubuike, Texas A&M

Jordan Elliot, Missouri

Ross Blacklock, TCU

Neville Gallimore, Oklahoma

Raekwon Davis, Alabama

Larrell Murchison, NC State

DaVon Hamilton, Ohio State

James Lynch, Baylor

Leki Fotu, Utah

EDGE

I am in the camp that the Titans are going to land Jadeveon Clowney in free agency, which combined with the signing of Vic Beasley would alleviate the need to draft an EDGE.

If that isn’t in the cards for Tennessee, there will be several solid options for the Titans to choose from in both the second and third round.

If the Titans want any of the top four on this list, they’ll almost certainly have to be aggressive to get their man.

Terrell Lewis, Alabama

Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn State

A.J. Epenesa, Iowa

Zack Baun, Wisconsin

Jonathan Greenard, Florida

Curtis Weaver, Boise State

Bradlee Anae, Utah

Darrell Taylor, Tennessee

Jabari Zuniga, Florida

Julian Okwara, Notre Dame

Jose Uche, Michigan

Running back

I find it hard to believe that the Titans would address the running back position on Day 2 with bigger fish to fry, but stranger things have happened.

If the Titans are going to get the big names on this list, they’re going to have to be extra aggressive in order to nab them, which isn’t likely to happen with the team really only looking for a backup running back.

Regardless, here’s the list of the best available players that could go on Day 2.

D’Andre Swift, Georgia

Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin

Cam Akers, Florida State

J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State

Zack Moss, Utah

A.J. Dillon, Boston College

Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Vanderbilt

Joshua Kelley, UCLA

Antonio Gibson, Memphis

Wide receiver

This is a position that stands as a wild card at the moment.

The Titans do need a deep threat for 2020, but also might have to replace Corey Davis in 2021 if the team doesn’t pick up the former No. 5 overall pick’s fifth-year option.

While it isn’t the biggest need for Tennessee right now, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the Titans addressed it in what is a historically deep class at the position this year.

Without further ado, the best available players at wide receiver on Day 2 that could be on the Titans’ radar.

Denzel Mims, Baylor

Tee Higgins, Clemson

Chase Claypool, Notre Dame

K.J. Hamler, Penn State

Laviska Shenault Jr., Colorado

Michael Pittman Jr., USC

Van Jefferson, Florida

Lynn Bowden Jr., Kentucky

Tyler Johnson, Minnesota

Antonio Gandy-Golden, Liberty
