50 players the Saints should watch on Day 2 of the 2019 NFL Draft

The New Orleans Saints stood pat as expected, letting the first 32 picks in the 2019 NFL Draft pass by without making a trade up. The board is set up well for them for the second day of selections; the Saints have just one pick at No. 62, near the end of the second round, but a trade back into the third round could net them another selection in that range.

Here are the top 50 players left on the board, going into the second day of selections:

  1. OT Jawaan Taylor, Florida
  2. WR D.K. Metcalf, Mississippi
  3. CB Greedy Williams, LSU
  4. CB Byron Murphy, Washington
  5. OGCody Ford, Oklahoma
  6. WR A.J. Brown, Mississippi
  7. OGDalton Risner, Kansas State
  8. TE Irv Smith Jr., Alabama

  15. OT Greg Little, Mississippi
  16. CB Amani Oruwariye, Penn State
  17. RB Darrell Henderson, Memphis
  18. OT Yodny Cajuste, West Virginia
  19. CB JoeJuan Williams, Vanderbilt
  20. WR Andy Isabella, Massachusetts
  21. DE Oshane Ximines, Old Dominion
  22. TE Jace Sternberger, Texas A&M
  23. OG Michael Deiter, Wisconsin
  24. DT Charles Omenihu, Texas
  25. WR Terry McLaurin, Ohio State
  26. DT Anthony Nelson, Iowa
  27. DT Khalen Saunders, Western Illinois
  28. QB Will Grier West, Virginia
  29. LB Germaine Pratt, NC State
  30. TE Dawson Knox, Mississippi
  31. OG Connor McGovern, Penn State
  32. WR Emanuel Hall, Missouri
  33. WR Miles Boykin, Notre Dame
  34. CB David Long, Michigan
  35. RB Devin Singletary, Florida Atlantic
  36. DE Christian Miller, Alabama
  37. LB Blake Cashman, Minnesota
  38. OG Dru Samia, Oklahoma
  39. WR Mecole Hardman, Georgia
  40. LB Vosean Joseph, Florida
  41. RB Justice Hill, Oklahoma State
  42. OT David Edwards, Wisconsin
  43. OT Max Scharping, Northern Illinois
  44. DE Ben Banogu, TCU
  45. DE Joe Jackson, Miami
  46. OT Chuma Edoga, USC
  47. OG Nate Davis, Charlotte
  48. DT Trysten Hill, UCF
  49. TE Kahale Warring, San Diego State
  50. DT Renell Wren, Arizona State

As you can see, the Saints are set up well to target any of several positions of need: wide receiver, defensive tackle, and tight end among them. They could also upgrade their linebackers or cornerbacks. It’s about as solid a group as the Saints could hope to work with after the first round of selections.
