Any householder over the age of TWO can earn £50 for participating in their latest Covid-19 short survey.
The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency, is posting letters to householders across the country, many of whom have helped with a previous survey and received £20 for their trouble.
Now this latest letter explains that a ‘substantial incentive’ will be paid in exchange for taking part in the latest ‘exciting research opportunity’.
One householder from Co Down, said she was suspicious of the uncolicited letter and called NISRA to hear in fact it was legitimate.
She explained: "I was worried it was a scam but my daughter made a quick phone call to NISRA who said it was correct, they were giving away vouchers in exchange for survey participation.
"So I did the first one and got a voucher for £20 which I exchanged for cash at the Post Office and now I've agreed to do this second survey for £50. It helps me and they say it helps them. So we're all happy."
In the latest letter, NISRA chief, Dr Kevin Sweeney, says: “NISRA is working with research partners on a new and very important research project that will help provide a better understanding of Coronavirus.
“This study will help the government work out how to manage the pandemic better moving forward.
“We would like to offer your household the opportunity to take part and benefit from the substantial incentive for participation. An interviewer will call you and explain the detail.
“Anyone over the age of two can take part in your household.
"As a thank you for taking part, everyone, including children, will receive a £50 voucher for the first part of the study with further incentives available if you wish to continue in the study.
“The first part of the study will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes per person.”
The £50 voucher can be exchanged for cash at the Post Office.
