50 Cent shows off his new house in the country of 'Africa'

Exciting developments in global real estate, as faded rapper 50 Cent announces imminent completion of a new project with a short Instagram video. The film is somewhat jerky, but features a substantial property with a very green swimming pool and a fairly lingering shot of a worker dutifully sweeping the grounds.

“My crib is almost finished in AFRICA,” teases Fiddy, unwilling at this stage to say if it is near the country’s capital or its famous coastline. “I’m going to have the craziest housewarming party ever. I’ll explain later. I got a good life Man.”

I guess that depends on which continent you ask him. In the US, a jury recently found 50 Cent liable to pay $5m for deliberately leaking a sex tape online, and requested his financial details so that they might determine further punitive damages for the victim. He promptly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Yet perhaps the African mansion isn’t incompatible with the bankruptcy petition. As Fiddy explained soon after the latter hearing, it absolutely wasn’t an indication that he was short of funds. Far from it. “Walt Disney has filed bankruptcy,” he explained. “Donald Trump has filed bankruptcy. It means you’re reorganising your finances, but it does stop things from moving forward that you don’t want moving forward.” Which appears to be legalese for: “You want your money? I’m SWIMMING in your money. That’s why my pool’s green.”

So, let that be an end to it. And as soon as Lost in Showbiz has more details of the crazy African housewarming, then so will you.
