The rapper 50 Cent (real name Curtis James Jackson III) gave fans an insight into his lifestyle when detailing his outgoing monthly expenses, which include $5,000 per month on gardening.

He has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after jurors ordered he pay a total of $7m to Lastonia Leviston after he posted a sex tape of her online.

The rapper had originally been ordered to pay $5m but that was raised by $2m in punitive damages (Leviston’s lawyer originally asked the jurors to award $15m).

Jackson revealed he has monthly expenses of $108,000 and a monthly income of $185,000 – mostly acquired from interest on investments and royalties – when he appeared at a bankruptcy court in Connecticut.

The court filing also stated that he owes money to his barber, personal trainer and stylist, and that his mansion in Hartford costs him $72,000 a month to maintain.

He previously described the move to file for bankruptcy as a “strategic business move”, and stated that both Walt Disney and current Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump had followed the same route.
