Oct. 12--Rapper 50 Cent has dropped the price on his mansion in Farmington, Conn., again -- this time to $8.5 million.
The singer-entrepreneur, who filed for bankruptcy this summer and was ordered to pay $7 million in a revenge-porn judgement, has been trying to sell the estate since 2007 when he first listed it for sale at $18.5 million.
The 40-year-old bought the 1980s contemporary Colonial in 2003 for $4.1 million from former professional boxer Mike Tyson and spent about $6 million in renovations. He spends about $72,000 a month to maintain the grounds and palatial mansion, according to court documents.
Set on 17 acres, the property has a helicopter pad for a quick commute to New York City.
The 51,657 square feet of living space about 21 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, an indoor pool and hot tub, a night club, multiple game rooms, a green screen room, a recording studio, a full gym, a conference room and a home theater.
Also on the estate are a swimming pool, a pond, a basketball court, guesthouses and gardens.
50 Cent was discovered by Eminem and gained fame with the hip-hop group G-Unit. His albums include the Dr. Dre-produced "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and last year's "Animal Ambition." He won a Grammy with Eminen and Dr. Dre in 2009 for best rap performance for "Crack a Bottle."
