“I don’t just take photos—I collect fleeting moments that might never happen again.”
Joseph’s journey with photography began in childhood, when a simple camera sparked a lifelong curiosity. Throughout his career as an engineer and project manager, photography remained a quiet passion, mostly expressed through travel. But after retirement, that passion turned into purpose as he devoted himself fully to the streets, where life unfolds in raw, unscripted moments.

Now based in Kuala Lumpur, Joseph roams the city with a camera in hand and an observant heart. His work is driven by a deep respect for everyday life, moments that others might overlook. He’s especially drawn to the interaction of people within their environments: a passerby caught in a sliver of light, a moment of unexpected whimsy, or the vibrant textures of local culture unfolding in real time.

Joseph approaches street photography with a patient, intentional mindset. “I love to hunt first, then fish my subject,” he shared with us. Sometimes it takes just minutes to capture the right moment, other times, it takes hours, days, weeks, or even months. It’s a process of observation, anticipation, and waiting for that one frame where everything aligns.

Having achieved a Diploma in Photography, Joseph is also an active member of FJM Street Photography Malaysia and ASFON KL. His photographs have been featured in local and international exhibitions and published in multiple magazines. He also previously worked as a stringer for a local newspaper, sharing photography tips with aspiring photographers.
“I’m still learning to find order in the chaos,” he told us. “Street photography teaches you to observe, to wait, and to see beauty where others might not.”
Joseph’s images reflect a trained eye and a deep curiosity. With an engineer’s precision and an artist’s instinct, he captures spontaneous stories unfolding around us, moments that feel both personal and universal.
