5 things we spotted from Celtic training as Odsonne Edouard misses out ahead of Champions League playoff

Celtic's training camp continued as Ange Postecoglou put his side through a pre-season workout with the Champions League qualifiers in mind.

The new boss is just days away from his first competitive game against Midtjylland and he put his players through their paces again in Wales.

Celtic are gearing up for a busy week with Bristol City the opponents on Wednesday night and Preston on Saturday before the start of their European adventure,

Before all of that was another morning on the training pitch as the Australian looks to continue to put his stamp on the side.

Here's 5 things we spotted from the session at Dragons Park.

Edouard headache for Ange

(SNS Group)

In-demand Odsonne Edouard couldn't play a full part in the session in Wales having picked up a knock in the win over Charlton.

The thigh injury saw him miss out on the session with the main squad and will have fans concerns with the massive clash with Midtjylland just a week away.

If the Frenchman does miss out it will leave Albian Ajeti as the only striking option for Ange Postecoglou with Leigh Griffiths sent home.

Ntcham looks to impress

(SNS Group)

With his chances of a move to AEK Athens seemingly over, Olivier Ntcham seemed keen to impress his new boss at training.

Its been a long time since Celtic fans saw the best of the Frenchman, but they will hope he can recapture some of the form shown in famous European nights against Lazio when facing the Danes.

It's a massive season for the 25-year-old but he looks raring to go.

Business as usual for Ajer?

(SNS Group)

Speaking of transfers, Kristoffer Ajer has already admitted this summer that he hopes to leave Celtic Park.

However, reports in Norway claim that the £20million asking price has scared off potential suitors like Newcastle and Norwich.

Despite this he didn't seem phased as he it was business as usual for the towering defender as he joined in with his teammates and put in the hard yards.

All smiles for Dembele

Last weekend he said he was loving his football again, and Celtic starlet Karamoko Dembele looked to be showing that in training.

He netted his first goal of the pre-season schedule against Charlton and impressed after being given a starting spot.

The 18-year-old will be hoping to continue those impressive early season outings against Bristol City tomorrow.

Australian influence

Another Celtic star looking to recapture his best form will be Tom Rogic.

It was just 12 months ago that he looked to be heading for the Parkhead exit door, but fate has handed him a second chance under a boss who knows him well.

He looks to have a great relationship with the gaffer, so can the playmaker find his form in Glasgow's east end again?
