5 things we noticed at Celtic training as Scott Brown laughs off derby controversy

It's another big week for Celtic as Neil Lennon 's men look to cement their lead at the top of the table in their quest for eight in a row.

The Hoops finished Sunday's win over Rangers with only 10 men after Dedryck Boyata was injured and the manager will be hoping for some reinforcements for the business end of the season.

Celtic are hoping to keep their fine form going as they travel to Paisley, where they struggled earlier in the season.

With Oran Kearney in the dugout for the first time for St Mirren , Brendan Rodgers' side, reduced to 10 men after Olivier Ntcham's first half red card, huffed and puffed their way to a goalless draw.

It's all change for this fixture, with Lennon now in the dugout. They'll be taking on a St Mirren outfit boosted by a stirring fightback against Dundee, which allowed the Saints to leapfrog the Dens Park side at the bottom of the table.

Here's 5 things we noticed from Lennoxtown today.

Scott Brown is all smiles

The Celtic captain was in the thick of the action on Sunday, with Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent taking potshots at him, before Andy Halliday exchanged a few pleasantries at the full-time whistle. Brown's will to win is crucial for Celtic as they look to close in on a famous treble Treble and if he cuts a controversial figure for opposition fans, players and pundits, it's water off a ducks back to a player who remains pivotal to the club's success.

Kieran Tierney proves you can't keep a good Bhoy down

He's missed a fair chunk of the season through injury for club and country and Celtic fans will have been concerned to see Kieran Tierney go off during Sunday's win over Rangers. The left back stalwart has played an incredible amount of football since breaking through four years ago under Ronny Deila, and he may well add to his minutes on Wednesday at St Mirren Park. It may be that he'll get some well-earned rest if Lennon's men secure the title with a few games to go, but until then, the Celtic-daft youngster looks raring to go.

Christie edges closer to a return

Ryan Christie has been a revelation this term, a dynamic midfield prescence with a knack of scoring in vital games, including a cup final winner. With Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham back in the squad after lengthy absences, Christie will be battling to get his place back in the side in a season where he's grabbed the bull by the horns. It presents Neil Lennon will plenty of options in his engine room, but it's a selection headache that he'll be glad of.

Tom Rogic's major presence

The mercurial Aussie midfielder came on as a sub against Rangers after missing much of the season through injury. With great feet, an ability to unlock defences and an eye for goal, he's been a big miss for fans who have come to expect a moment of magic as soon as he gets the ball. The Rangers game came too early for him, but could he be knocking on the door for a start tomorrow night in Paisley?

Stephen Gallacher goal-in-one

Scottish golfer Stephen Gallacher takes in training (SNS Group)

Swapping the greens and fairways for a day, Celtic-daft golfer Stephen Gallacher took in training at Lennoxtown. The 44-year-old, who was said to have "worked like a lunatic" to get back to winning ways on the course, may well have been swapping tips with Neil Lennon ahead of the trip to take on the Saints.
