The Arizona Cardinals announced officially the addition of former Canadian Football League quarterback Chris Streveler to the roster on a futures deal for 2020. The signing was reported already, so it was expected.
What should you know about the 6-foot-1, 216-pound quarterback?
He is a champion

Playing in the CFL, he played two seasons for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. They won the Grey Cup in 2019. He was not the starter, but he is a champion.
Streveler is tough

A big part of his game is running the ball. He played the final month of the season for the Blue Bombers with a broken bone in his foot.
He played more than QB in college

Some believe he can be a player like New Orleans Saints do-it-all QB Taysom Hill, who plays special teams, lines up at receiver or tight end and at running back, in addition to passing the ball as a quarterback.
Well, his sophomore year at Minnesota, he was a receiver. He played only three games and caught only one pass in addition to his four rushing attempts, but he played other positions than quarterback.
He is a runner

He is known as a running quarterback. He rushed for 20 touchdowns and more than 1,500 yards in two seasons in college at South Dakota.
In the CFL, he rushed for 1,167 yards and 22 touchdowns in two seasons.
He seems like he knows how to have fun

After winning the Grey Cup, Streveler was seen shirtless, wearing jean cut-off shorts, a fur coat and a cowboy hat and shades.
It feels like a mix of Ryan Fitzpatrick and J.R. Smith.
