Elon Musk’s AI company xAI has finally launched its much-anticipated Grok 4 model. The company has also introduced a new $300-per-month AI subscription plan, SuperGrok Heavy. Besides, just like its rivals, the Grok 4 is also ultra-intelligent and can analyze images and respond to questions. In live demos, Grok 4 outscored Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro and OpenAI’s o3-high on “Humanity’s Last Exam,” a test of 2,500 questions spanning math, science, and humanities. Grok 4 scored 25.4% without tools, and the new Grok Heavy version hit 44.4% with tools, which is well above its competition.

As already mentioned, the company also introduced a new “SuperGrok Heavy” subscription at $300 per month. This is the most expensive consumer AI plan to date. It offers advanced capabilities, higher rate limits, and early access to features like multi-agent collaboration, aimed at researchers, developers, and enterprise users.

According to the company, the Grok 4 is designed for complex tasks such as debugging entire codebases and scientific analysis. Last but not least, the Grok 4 comes with multimodal capabilities, which allow it to process and generate content across text, images, and structured data formats. It supports real-time web search, a massive 256,000-token context window, and can analyze visual content alongside text for comprehensive answers.
When it comes to the availability part, Grok 4 is now available on the Grok app for Android and iOS, and through the new subscription tiers. However, it’s not an easy road for xAI, as OpenAI is setting up the stage to unveil its most powerful GPT 5 model soon, which will be the true competition of Grok 4.
