The Tennessee Titans held practice at Nissan Stadium instead of the usual venue of Saint Thomas Sports Park on Saturday.
The practice was open to fans, and complete with puppy adoptions, Titans football and a concert to follow.
While some names of note were missing, others stood out.
Here are five takeaways as the Titans put Day 8 of training camp practice away in the books.
1. Inclement weather was almost a major issue.
The practice open to fans in Nissan Stadium had it all — Titans football, puppies up for adoption and a concert to follow. Some thought it wouldn’t happen due to concerns with the weather. But lightning delays and all, the show went on.
2. A host of players were reported absent.

As has been the story over recent practices, the Titans had a fair amount of players absent.
Wide receiver Corey Davis, offensive lineman Jack Conklin, offensive lineman Nate Davis, running back Derrick Henry, wide receiver A.J. Brown and defensive lineman Frank Herron were all held out of the day’s practice.
3. Some things you blame on the rain.
Tight end Anthony Firkser has been a target on most of the team’s third-down passes, and has been money nearly all of time time. He did let one slip through his hands today, but we’ll give him a break due to weather conditions.
But, here’s a look at one of many of Firkser’s solid receptions. This one resulted in a score, and it’ll be important for him to stay at the top of his game to continue to get looks as star pass-catcher Delanie Walker moves forward in his recovery.
4. Tajae Sharpe was a standout.
With all the depth the Titans currently have at wide receiver, it’s important for a player to stay hot if he wishes to make the final 53-man roster. Sharpe did just that, catching going 7-of-10 of his first targets — one of which resulted in a touchdown.
5. Delanie Walker makes his first reception in Nissan Stadium since 2017.
It’s been a long time since we heard reports of on-the-field action for Walker, as most have surrounded his long road to recovery since he was sidelined in Week 1 of last season against the Miami Dolphins with a nasty leg injury.
Saturday night, he caught his first pass in Nissan Stadium since 2017 and received a welcomed round of applause.
