The Tennessee Titans took the practice field for the seventh day of training camp practices on Friday in preparation for their preseason debut against the Philadelphia Eagles in less than a week.
The Titans got some especially good looks from their defense as lesser-known players continued to be recognized.
Here are five takeaways from Friday.
1. First-team defense rules king.

Friday was a good day for the defense overall, especially the first team. Their best showing was during the two-minute drill toward the end of practice, and the secondary looked tight all day long.
2. The team was without a host of players.

Wide receiver A.J. Brown, running back Derrick Henry, outside linebacker Kamalei Correa, offensive lineman Jack Conklin, tight end Delanie Walker and nose tackle Frank Herron were all held out of practice.
3. Another day, another look for the offensive line.

We’ve seen several combinations from the Titans’ offensive line since it was announced that left tackle Taylor Lewan would be facing a four-game suspension.
On a day where Saffold and Davis weren’t available, the lineup from left to right was Dennis Kelly, Jamil Douglas, Ben Jones, Kevin Pamphile, and Jack Conklin.
4. OLB Derick Roberson has a standout day.

While some of the bigger names have continued to show progression, undrafted free agents have drawn attention as well. Outside linebacker Derick Roberson is one of those players.
Roberson had a good showing on Friday, bringing the pressure during the team period and beating A.T. Hall two consecutive times off the edge.
5. A solid day for the cornerback position.

We mentioned earlier that the defense overall did a nice job on Friday, but there was a particular position group that was at the top of its game.
Cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson, Tye Smith, Kenneth Durden and Logan Ryan all looked good during team periods, recording notable pass breakups.
