The Tennessee Titans took the field at St. Thomas Sports Park for the final training camp practice before Thursday’s 2019 preseason debut against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Throughout the day, we saw lots of action from Mariota, some missing faces and players continue to step up as they make a run for the place on the final 53-man roster.
Here are five takeaways from the day’s practice.
1. Marcus Mariota returns at full force.
Monday served mostly a rest day for the signal-caller, but he was back in the thick of the action on Tuesday. There were a handful of throws he may like to have back, but it was a pretty solid day for him, especially in the red-zone.
2. A host of players did not participate.

Offensive lineman Nate Davis, running back Derrick Henry, linebacker D’Andre Walker and wide receiver A.J. Brown and nose tackle Frank Herron all did not take part in Tuesday’s practice.
3. WR Darius Jennings has been giving some good looks.
He may be a bit of a darkhorse player, but Jennings has quietly impressed. ESPN’s Turron Davenport had praise for the wideout on Tuesday, noting improvement specifically on his route-running.
4. Dion Lewis shined.

Derrick Henry played second-fiddle to this rusher for the better part of 2018, before overtaking him toward the end of the season.
According to team reporter Jim Wyatt, Lewis had the “best run of the day.” Wyatt says he “showed plenty of burst when he busted through the hole and into the open field” on one play.
5. Kalif Raymond continues to get recognition.
The receiver continued to get first-team reps, earning the respect of his teammate and his quarterback. Raymond is one of many lesser-known names who has made an impact during camp.
