5-star OT Paris Johnson nearly flipped to UGA

5-star 2020 offensive tackle prospect Paris Johnson is fully committed to become an Ohio State Buckeye, but there was a time where he seriously considered flipping his commitment to join the Georgia Bulldogs.

“It was very close,” Johnson Jr. said, per DawgNation. “There were moments where I felt like ‘this right there’ was where I was going to be at…It was nothing against the coaches,” he said. “The coaches were great. I liked coach [Sam] Pittman. I liked coach [Kirby] Smart. I liked all the coaches on the staff. I think what it was is it was nothing to do with them. I started to sit back and [go] could I see myself in Athens for you know three years? Four years? Could I see myself going there? I just couldn’t see myself doing it.

While it’s disappointing that Johnson didn’t ever choose to join the Dawgs, it’s still interesting to note how close he was to taking his talents to Athens.
