The Arizona Cardinals are off on Sunday so we have time to check in with the rest of the NFC West. What is going on in training camp with the Cardinals’ division rivals?
Let’s check in with the Seattle Seahawks and see what is the biggest news coming out of training camp.
First-round pick could miss preseason

Pass rusher L.J. Collier, Seattle’s first-round pick, is injured. He suffered a sprained ankle that could keep him out of the preseason completely. Coach Pete Carroll called it a “rare sprained ankle.”
DT Poona Ford developing nicely

Ford had a good rookie campaign and will play a critical role early in the season because Jarran Reed is suspended the first six games of the year. His teammates have good things to say about him.
UDFA WR showing flashes

Jazz Ferguson made an impression at the Seahawks’ fake game over the weekend. He caught consecutive touchdown passes. However, it will still be a longshot to make the final roster.
Russell Wilson misses first practice ever

Wilson missed practice on Friday for the first time since he was drafted in 2012. He attended his grandfather’s funeral. The backups struggled in his absence.
Former Cardinal in position battle

Jaron Brown, who played five seasons for the Cardinals before signing with Seattle, is right in the middle of a big position battle. He is battling with David Moore for significant playing time. He could be a starter this year.
