5 Seahawks stories from last week Cardinals fans should know

Another week has passed and it is time to take a look around the NFC West to see what the division rivals of the Arizona Cardinals are up to. What are the Seattle Seahawks up to at this point of the offseason?

Here are some stories to know.

Seahawks could make Bobby Wagner league’s highest-paid LB

Wagner is seeking a contract extension and is not participating in OTAs right now. He is in attendance but does not suit up to practice. If a deal can be done, he could be looking at $20 million a season. He is looking to beat the deal that C.J. Mosley got in the offseason. Teammate and fellow linebacker K.J. Wright isn’t too concerned. He believes Wagner will be a Seahawk for his entire career.

The Seahawks have twin brothers Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin on their team. Shaquem is known in part for his story of making it to the NFL despite having only one hand.

The brothers apparently have a book coming out.

Seattle replaced an injured running back with a former teammate of Cardinals QB Kyler Murray. They signed Marcelias Sutton after they waived/injured Adam Choice.

Sutton logged 29 carries for 152 yards and two touchdowns for the Sooners in 2018. He appeared in just six games last year before his season ended due to a leg injury.

The offensive line has been a problem for the Seattle Seahawks, even though they had one of the best rushing attacks in the league. However, they have high hopes for the unit this year. Left tackle Duane Brown has gushed about the addition of guard Mike Iupati, who last played for the Cardinals. Brown believes the Seahawks O-line could be the best in the league.

Seahawks go to court over Malik McDowell’s signing bonus

 Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seahawks are seeking help from the court system to get back roughly $800,000 from former defensive lineman Malik McDowell. He was paid half of his $1.6 million and got hurt in a non-football injury. It was ruled he is to pay it back but he claims he was medically cleared so he should not have to.
