Residents of St Ann's have spoken out about their 'peaceful' lives in an 'iconic' residential area.
Nottinghamshire Live took the streets in St Ann's and asked residents what do they love most about living there.
Located at just a 15 minute walk to the city centre, the area is the home to a large community who said they 'would never leave' the area.
Here is a full roundup of what they had to say.
'Lovely community'
Florist Diane Gillespie, who is in her 50s, has been working in the area for 30 years.
She was a hairdresser and decided to open her own flower store three years ago.
Ms Gillespie said: "The reputation that St Ann's has is not a true picture of what is really like.
"There is a big and lovely community here.
"Maybe years ago it was true - but now it is completely changed."
Although she currently lives in Derbyshire, Ms Gillespie said she is considering moving to the area because she loves it this much.
She added: "Unless you spend some time here and get to speak to people here you will not get to appreciate its beauty."
'I just bought a house to raise my girls here'
Kitchen assistant Stephanie Coucinn, of Curzon Gardens, 32, said she decided to settle down here because it is the 'perfect' place to raise her children.
Originally from Yorkshire, she came to this district 13 years ago and 'fell in love' with it.
Ms Coucinn said: "My daughters absolutely love it so I decided to buy a house here.
"There is a lot going on here - nice place with nice people."
'Perfect location'
Residents enjoy the perks of living in a quiet residential area surrounded by greenery while living close to 'the heart of the city'.
Trudi Potter, who works in facilities management, 50, said the location is 'brilliant' for her 'busy lifestyle'.
She added: "It is very close to town, so I usually just walk to the city centre.
"I have a car, but it is just a 10 minute walk and I do not have to pay for parking which is brilliant.
"It is very convenient for me."
'Neat and peaceful'
Warehouse worker Ebenezer Entzi, 49, has lived in St Ann's for five years and he does not think about moving out.
He added: "It is so peaceful and neat.
"People here are very respectful and maintain the area clean.
"It is so lovely living here - I have never even considered leaving this place."
Leaving Turkey for St Ann's
Hatice Sahin, 47, is an owner of a restaurant in Beeston who made the decision of moving to the area from Turkey seven years ago.
She said that the community here is one of the reasons why she has never thought about going back.
Ms Sahin added: "It is good for our family.
"It is a lovely residential community, and there are many young people here who make the area look very lively.
"It is the people who make the area and I would not think about leaving."
