While the Arizona Cardinals have a day off of practice in training camp, it is time to check in with the rest of the NFC West. What is happening in the training camps of the Cardinals’ division rivals?
Let’s check in with the Los Angeles Rams. He are the stories Cardinals fans should know about.
Steve Jackson popped for drug test

Jackson signed a one-year deal to retire with the Rams, where he was a star. In great NFL fashion, his name came up for a random drug screening. It is funny, sad and crazy all at the same time.
WR Reynolds has been outstanding but still won’t start

The Rams have a solid receiving corps with Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. Their fourth receiver, Josh Reynolds, is quite capable and is again having a great camp. Sean McVay said he has been “outstanding.” This bodes well for the Rams if one of their top three gets hurt.
New starters on offensive line progressing well

The Rams have the challenge of replacing two starters from their very solid offensive line from last year. Rodger Saffold and John Sullivan have been replaced by Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen. Sean McVay has been encouraged by their progress in camp.
More explosive Cooper Kupp post-ACL tear?

Receiver Cooper Kupp is coming back after a torn ACL. He was a big part of their offensive success before his injury. The injury does not appear to have slowed him down. According to McVay, Kupp “looks more explosive than he was before, actually.” That’s probably coachspeak at this time of year, but it is something to watch as the season unfolds.
Rams practice with Chargers

The Rams held joint practices with the other team in Los Angeles, the Chargers. The reviews were positive. Rams QB Jared Goff prefers joint practices to actual preseason games. Eric Weddle called it “incredible work.” Here are notes from the practices.
