5 Rams stories from the last week for Cardinals fans to know

The end of the week has come in the offseason and it is time to go around the NFC West to see what has been going on with the Arizona Cardinals’ division rivals.

What is new with the Los Angeles Rams? Here are some stories for Cardinals fans to know about from the last week.

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The Rams have not agreed to a new deal with Ramsey, whom they acquired via trade last year. However, Ramsey isn’t going to hold out. He believes it will get taken care of.

After the Rams’ defensive coordinator suggested Ramsey could play multiple positions, Ramsey now is suggesting he might be more than just a boundary cornerback. The Cardinals might have to face him in a number of roles, although with receiver DeAndre Hopkins, that may limit him to just covering him.

Rams expect RT Rob Havenstein to bounce back

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Havenstein struggled in 2019 with injuries and play. He was replaced by Bobby Evans in the starting lineup. However, Rams coach Sean McVay suggests the plan is for Havenstein to return to the starting lineup and using Evans differently. They expect Havenstein to improve and play more like he did before 2019.

Rams set preseason dates, times; will open new stadium

The Rams announced the dates and times of their four preseason games. They will open their new stadium — SoFi Stadium — in their preseason opener on August 14.

Sean McVay says it’s an excuse to say the 2020 Rams are rebuilding

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Rams have turned over their roster quite a bit, losing a number of key offensive and defensive players. Some projections even have them finishing in last place in the division in 2020.

McVay refuses to call this season a rebuilding year, calling it “making excuses and running away from the expectations.”

Cardinals fans are familiar with statements like this. They refused to call 2018 rebuilding and ended up being the worst team in the league.
