It’s NFL Draft week and heading into the selection process, teams are evaluating the process of trading back and acquiring more draft picks, or just staying put at your spot and pick the best available player.
Last season, Howie Roseman didn’t see a game changer in the first round and chose to move back 20 spots from 32 to 52, allowing the Eagles to pick up a 2019 second-round pick. Roseman then traded up from 52 to 49 with the Colts, to select talented tight end, Dallas Goedert.
If the Eagles don’t see the player they like at No. 25 and choose to move back in the draft, there are several big named players who could be available in the second round.
With that assessment, here are five prospects the Eagles could target if they choose to trade down in the NFL Draft.
Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
Bush’s size at the linebacker position could cause him to slip to the 2nd round, and he’d be a steal for the Eagles if they were able to add a pick, while moving back from No. 25. Bush is a play maker that could anchors the Eagles linebacker corp for years to come.

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, safety, Florida
The ball hawking safety could become Jim Schwartz own swiss army knife in the secondary, able to play the deep middle or slide into the slot and take away a bigger wide receiver or tight end.

Jerry Tillery, DT, Notre Dame
Tillery isn’t a player that teams will necceasrily trade up for, but the former Notre Dame defensive tackle is definitely a first round talent who could slip to the second night of the draft. Tillery is quick off the ball and can excel as a pass rusher and against the run.

Cody Ford, OL, Oklahoma
Ford, a powerful guard for the Sooners, would allow the Eagles to not rush Brandon Brooks back from his achilles injury, while securing the future of an aging offensive line. Ford will fit right in with the Eagles while utilizing his ability to dominate at the point of attack.

Darrell Henderson, RB, Memphis
Henderson, a sturdy and shifty running back, could compliment Jordan Howard, while adding another dimension out of the backfield. Compared to Alvin Kamara and once considered a first round pick, Henderson (5-8, 208) doesn’t have breakaway speed, but is highly productive after a final season at Memphis that saw him rack up 214 carries for 1,909 yards and 22 touchdowns, while averaging 8.2 yards per carry.
