Jose Mourinho declared he wants a quick return to management after being fired by Tottenham on Monday, having seen his reign at the north London side end after 17 months.
Tottenham chief Daniel Levy opted to place Mourinho on gardening leave and part ways with the rest of his coaching team.
The club statement thanked the two-time Champions League-winning coach for his service, but there was no comment from the man himself.
After being tracked down by Sky Sports on Monday afternoon, the Portuguese boss was asked about the decision and gave little away.
One thing he did suggest, however, was that he wanted to return to management as soon as possible.
He said: ""No need. No need for breaks and [recharging] batteries.
"I'm always in football."
With that in mind, Mirror Football has taken a look at five possible landing spots for Mourinho.
Celtic
Scottish giants Celtic are still on the hunt for a new manager after seeing Neil Lennon resign earlier in the year.
Eddie Howe and Roy Keane have both been interviewed for the role, but neither has won a top-flight league title in their careers.
With Celtic desperate to wrestle back the Scottish Premiership title from Rangers, there's every chance they could try their luck with Mourinho.
Porto
After being fired from his last three jobs in the Premier League, it seems unlikely that Mourinho will be given another role in England any time soon.
For that reason, an emotional return to Porto could be on the cards.
Current boss Sergio Conceicao has been linked with a few top jobs recently - including Fiorentina, and if the role became vacant this summer, Mourinho could return to where it all began.
Juventus
Mourinho's last successful stint on and off the pitch came at Inter Milan, where he won the treble and maintained good relationships with the vast majority of his players.
For that reason, a return to Italy shouldn't be discounted, though Inter Milan are happy with Antonio Conte.
Juventus, however, are facing missing out on the Champions League, and could give Mourinho a ring if they end their Andrea Pirlo experiment.
Portugal National Team
Mourinho has been linked with the top job with the Portugal national team for a number of years now.
Incumbent manager Fernando Santos has been in the role since 2014 and is under contract until 2024, however it isn't out of the question he could leave this summer based on what happens at the European Championships.
Mourinho recently declared the Portugal job would be "very difficult", but it's unlikely he would turn down the role if offered to him.
Major League Soccer
If Mourinho wanted a change, he could follow some of his past players and head to America.
He recently talked up the quality of Major League Soccer, and didn't dismiss the notion he would manage over the pond at some point.
Managing in America would likely give Mourinho that one final payday before retirement.
