The Nottingham Contemporary Craft Fair is a great place to pick up a truly unique gift from prints to jewellery to plants. This year looks set to be one of the biggest with more than 40 designers including local favourites such as Jo Irvine Jewelry, HALLO Ceramics and artist Kim-A-Tron.

The event is held over three days starting with a preview on Friday, December 2, from 5pm until 8pm. It's completely free with no need to book.

Chilwell, Beeston

If you need an excuse to take a trip to Beeston then this is it. The Garage is reviving its popular Christmas markets starting on Sunday, November 27, and running until Sunday, December 18, from 10 am until 2 pm.

There are more than 40 different Midlands-based makers and producers to help you get into the Christmas spirit. If you are feeling particularly festive then it's worth noting that the venue is also hosting Christmas carol sessions too.

Winter stalls from the Crypt Market

Ye Old Salutation Inn, Houndsgate

The Crypt Market is back at the Salutation Inn for its winter market bringing you the best in rock, punk, goth, steampunk, fantasy or occult. The market has a little bit of everything - or as they put it themselves, "the just plain odd".
