Aaron Gordon’s name was already one being thrown around on the NBA trade market heading into this week, with the deadline to make deals looming.
But per The Athletic’s Jared Weiss and Sam Amick, the Orlando Magic forward has “formally requested” a trade, which makes sense for all parties. Gordon — who is under contract through 2022 — could use a change of scenery, and the Magic probably need to tear it all down and start over again, building around young talents Markelle Fultz, Cole Anthony and Jonathan Isaac (although they do have Nikola Vucevic and Terrence Ross, perhaps it’s time for the mediocre franchise to think about a rebuild).
