5 Lions players limited in Wednesday’s practice

The Detroit Lions released their initial injury report of Week 1, the first of the 2019 season. As they prepare to take on the Arizona Cardinals, they had five players who were limited in practice on Wednesday.

The five?

  • LB Jarrad Davis (ankle)
  • DL Da’Shawn Hand (elbow)
  • CB Rashaan Melvin (knee)
  • OL Frank Ragnow (ankle)
  • DE Trey Flowers (shoulder)

Davis got hurt in the team’s third preseason game and isn’t expected to play in the season opener.

Hand has been dealing with the injury since the start of the preseason.

Ragnow, while limited, did line up with the starting offensive line in the open part of practice, according to Lions Wire’s writer Erik Schlitt. He will likely play on Sunday.

Flowers did not play in the preseason so his availability for the season opener is not yet known.
