Orange Chicken and Fried Rice
- Total cost: $11.28
Why order takeout when you can whip up orange chicken ($7.29) with fried vegetable rice ($3.99) for a fraction of the price?
The frozen orange chicken serves up to five people and comes complete with Mandarin orange sauce packets to flavor for taste. And in the event there’s not enough fried rice to go around, you can buy a second bag and still pay just over $15.

Veggie Burgers and Fries
- Total cost: $12.88
Take advantage of the sale running on Vemondo California veggie burgers to fill your freezer and fridge with everything you need for a veggie burger night.
Lidl shoppers save $1.20 on each four-count package of frozen veggie burgers. From here, you can shop for hamburger buns ($1.29 for a pack of eight), iceberg lettuce ($1.99 per lettuce head), tomatoes on the vine ($1.97 per pound), dill pickle chips ($2.59) and Thousand Island dressing ($1.85). Add a side of crinkle cut French fries ($1.99) and you’ll be paying far less than you would placing a similar veggie burger order at a fast food establishment.

Gyros
- Total cost: $9.99
Boasting it has all the ingredients to make five large sandwiches, Eridanous’ frozen gyro sandwich kit keeps weekend dinner (or lunch) costs down. Each kit includes 16 ounces of precooked gyro slices, five Greek-style pitas and 8 ounces of tzatziki sauce.

Pizza and Salad
- Total cost: $11.18
Regular readers of our content know we can’t help but include a pizza and salad option on these lists whenever possible.
Aside from being delicious, this combo is almost always available at grocery stores to shop for less than $15 — and Lidl is no exception to that rule. Their Take ‘n Bake thin crust mega meat pizza ($7.49) measures out to 16 inches and comes smothered in pepperoni, sausage, bacon and beef patty crumbles.
A wide range of salad kits is available. Our personal pick is Taylor Farms apple feta salad kit ($3.69), which is currently on sale at two for $6. If you bought two salad kits plus the pizza, you’d still be comfortably within the $15 spend limit.
Editor’s note: Prices and availability are accurate as of Aug. 22, 2025, and are subject to change.
