5 injuries to note as Broncos enter training camp

On the eve of training camp, there’s good news on the Broncos’ injury front. None of the team’s players will begin camp on the physically unable to perform list, a sign that everyone should be healthy by Week 1.

The players that are recovering from injuries — headlined by running back Phillip Lindsay (wrist) and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) — should all be back on the field relatively soon.

Denver coach Vic Fangio said during a pre-camp press conference Wednesday that Lindsay is “ready to go” before noting that the running back will be eased back into action slowly.

Broncos general manager John Elway essentially said the same thing about Sanders, noting that the receiver will be on the field Thursday but he won’t be rushed back into fully participating at practice.

Elsewhere on the injury front, tight end Jake Butt (ACL) will also be eased back into action. Meanwhile, offensive guard Ron Leary (Achilles) and cornerback Bryce Callahan (foot) should be good to go.

With camp one day away, Denver has a nearly clean bill of health.
