It’s National Coffee Week, and if you own one of the best coffee machines or espresso machines, there's nothing quite like the aroma and fresh taste of a cup to kick-start your day. And if you want to elevate the experience even more, why not create a barista-style coffee station in the comfort of your own home?

In fact, a home coffee station is a must-have for every coffee lover to make the perfect cup of Joe. Not only will it keep all your favorite coffee essentials organized and easy to grab, but will spruce up the area, adding a stylish feature to your kitchen.

Luckily, I’ve found five IKEA picks that are ideal for setting up your home coffee station. What’s more, these are versatile and won’t break the bank. So if you want to make the perfect coffee at home, here are my favorite items to create a barista-style coffee bar.

Top tips for setting up a coffee station

Before you start shopping for these top picks, you'll need to prepare your coffee station.

First, make sure you find the perfect spot to set up your coffee station. This will help to ‘zone’ out your area, and could be in the corner space of a countertop or even tucked away inside a deep cabinet. And if you find yourself short of countertop space, you could simple use a basic console table to create an eye-catching coffee bar.

Alternatively, if you're short on space, you can opt for open shelving, either above or beside your station. Vertical shelving ideas are great for compact spaces, and can even double your space in a small kitchen.

Check how strong your walls are before installing, but floating shelves are a great way to free up valuable surface space. What’s more, you can hang or display your coffee cups, condiments, stirrers and other essentials — which will be easy to reach and store.

And if you really want to spruce it up, add a pop of color with a vase of fresh flowers, a tray of bakeries, or a biscuit tin to liven up your coffee bar. After all, you'll need a sweet treat to accompany all your coffee breaks.
