5 fresh new nail colours for summer 2019

Are you lacking lacquer inspo?

Fancy straying from your usual nude or burgundy, but not sure which shade to sample?

The SS19 runways were awash with a slew of super cool, fresh spring shades that will add an instant zing to your look.

These are the five new nail colours to know:

Emerald Green

Giorgio Armani SS19 (Imaxtree)

Green is big news in general for summer 2019 - from acidic apple to pistachio and everything in-between. If lime green talons are not really your bag, the models at Giorgio Armani paired their rosy makeup with an ultra-wearable high-shine emerald green. The perfect summer 2019 update on those well-loved claret and oxblood hues.

Not-so-mellow yellow

Natasha Zinko SS19 (Imaxtree)

Gen Z yellow continues to creep its way into our wardrobes and makeup cabinets, and, if anything, this season's shade is even bolder and more neon. Chromat, Alice & Olivia and Natasha Zinko were just some of the SS19 shows to advocate super sunny hues, while models at Tibi wore pale yellow blobs on the ends of their digits combined with a shimmering silver accent nail.

Big hitter glitter

Anna Sui SS19 (Imaxtree)

Glitter was all over the SS19 runways, from the holographic stiletto nails at Kim Shui to the blue and red gradient glitter manis at Tadashi Shoji. Our favourite though has to be the multicoloured, chunky glitter on clear nails seen at Anna Sui - playful yet chic and quite literally goes with anything.

Peach and Pantone coral

Temperley SS19 (Imaxtree)

In case you missed it, Living Coral is officially the Pantone colour of the year, and its impact was definitely seen on the runways. At Gucci a pale peach was alternated with bare rounded nails to give a fresh and natural look, while coral nails at Temperley were created using Jessica's custom nail colour in Juicy Melon.

Milky shine

Ryan Lo SS19 (Imaxtree)

Swap the matte Tipp-Ex white for translucent, milky hues. At Ryan Lo pointed almond-shaped nails were whitewashed in a milky CND hue by Marian Newman, while at Brandon Maxwell's Texas-inspired show models wore two coats of Essie’s super pale Sugar Daddy.
