5 free agents that could interest Cardinals

With free agency practically here, the Arizona Cardinals should already have a plan in place. Most fans can only guess who they might pursue.

Here are a few players that, either through recent rumors or common sense, they might take a hard look at signing:

LB C.J. Mosley

With the release of Josh Bynes, it seems to be all but written in the cards that Arizona will pursue linebackers.

Mosely is no doubt the top prize, and it still isn’t out of the question that Baltimore finds a way to keep him. Should be hit the open market, don’t be surprised if Arizona tries to make him their big splash signing.

WR Randall Cobb

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Cobb’s play has fallen off due to injuries the last couple of seasons, making his entering the free agent market not the big news it could have been at his prime.

However, Steve Keim likes to find deals on players who have an injury history, and if Cobb remains healthy, he would seem to be a good fit in Kliff Kingsbury’s offense.

G Andy Levitre

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

It seems now very likely that Arizona will attack guard as a position of need along the offensive line given the trade of Marcus Gilbert.

However, the market may be too rich for Arizona’s liking for a few of the bigger names (Roger Saffold for instance). This leads to the likelihood that Keim will try to target an older veteran on a one year deal and attack this spot in the draft.

Levitre, at 32, is on the back end of his career, but may be worth a one year deal to give Josh Rosen some time to throw.

DT Corey Liuget

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Liuget May have been underwhelming as a former first round pick for the Chargers, but he has been a somewhat steady, unspectacular part of their defensive line and would make sense for Arizona to offer a one or two-year deal to.

He also makes sense coming from a 3-4 defense (although they played 4-3 most recently, Liuget has played in a 3-4). His veteran presence and leadership would be a good add for Arizona.

QB Brett Hundley

Hundley makes sense for 2 reason: one being that he is from the Valley and two being that he would seem to be comfortable in the type of spread offense Kingsbury would want to run.

There’s a decent chance that Arizona’s backup QB would come via trade, but if not Hundley is one name to keep an eye on.
