5 Eagles players whose stock is up after day 7 of training camp

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially been practicing for seven days now, and a few names have risen to the top in regards to certain position battles. There are still preseason games to be played and highly intense practices to come, but after seven days, here are the five Eagles whose stock is up and rising.

Sidney Jones

Jones has been the subject of ridicule for months now, but he’s having the strongest training camp out of all the cornerbacks and is making his case to start regardless of what Jalen Mills does upon his return. Jones has been making plays all over the field and has 3 interceptions so far during camp.

Miles Sanders

After missing the bulk of the offseason program, Sanders has hit the ground running and before a foot injury on Thursday, was having his way with the Eagles defense. Like his former Penn State teammate, Saquon Barkley, Sanders hits the hole and has a burst that separates him from the rest of his teammates. Jordan Howard is the starter, but Sanders is making a case to be the co-starter.

Kamu Grugier-Hill

The Eagles are likely to be more successful as a defensive unit if Zach Brown is starting, but so far at the outset of camp, Grugier-Hill is making a case for himself. His familiarity with the defense has allowed him to flourish, and the Eagles could have a conundrum at linebacker. It’s not beyond the norm to believe that Schwartz would play all three linebackers together.

Marken Michel

Michel received the co-sign from Doug Pederson on Thursday when the Eagles head coach acknowledged that the under the radar wideout is having a solid training camp. If Michel can make his presence known on special teams he could compete for the fifth or sixth wider receiver spot.

Joe Ostman

Ostman is finally starting to live up to his potential. His motor is consistently high and been making plays all week. Ostman has been so intriguing, that Jim Schwartz is looking to create ways to utilize him. Don’t be surprised to see Ostman getting more reps from a stand-up rusher position (joker).
