LUDHIANA: Five days after, a duo decamped with four gold chains from a jewellery store at Sarafa Bazaar, Ludhiana police arrested the woman and detained a juvenile for the crime. The woman was identified as Rajni Sharma of Khamanon in Fatehgarh Sahib. Police officials said that on October 10, Hitesh Nischal had lodged a complaint that the woman, a child and a boy had visited his shop on October 9. Posing as a customer, she had asked the shopkeeper to show them gold chains, of which they later stole four. Though the shopkeeper had failed to notice the crime, the act was captured on CCTV cameras at the shop.
The shopkeeper had come to know about the theft when he had checked his gold stock on October 10. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered.
