5-day road closure near Victoria Centre for resurfacing works

Part of one of Nottingham's busiest city centre streets has been closed for roadworks to be carried out.

Starting from today, Monday, May 18 and lasting until the end of the working week on Friday, May 22, part of Lower Parliament Street in Nottingham city centre will be affected by the closure.

To allow for road resurfacing works, the street will be closed between Milton Street, near the Victoria Centre and Glasshouse Street.

Work will be being carried out between 8.30am and 5pm each day and is being carried out by Nottingham City Council.

There are moderate delays expected as the road is used by buses and taxis in the city - this will be monitored by the council's traffic control centre.

A diversion has been placed on site to offer an alternative route for motorists.

For people using NCT bus services, the operator has asked passengers to use the following boarding stops:

  • Green 6 and 10 - Angel Row, Broadmarsh or Railway Station
  • Lilac 26 and 27 - King Street
  • Blue 39 and 41 - Queen Street
  • Red 43 and 44 - King Street
  • Navy 49X - Angel Row, Broadmarsh or Railway Station
  • Turquoise 77 and 79 - Burton Street (alongside Cornerhouse) or Upper Parliament Street
