Appliances
Katie Jones, the owner of Squirrel A Store of Buried Treasure, said Costco will probably have some sales that retirees can look forward to on kitchen gadgets. “I believe their small appliances and kitchen tools would be best candidates to be sold at huge discounts, such as Vitamix blenders, which may be reduced by up to 25% pricing,” Jones said.

Robot Vacuums and Lightweight Stick Vacuums
Vacuum not sucking like it used to? Kyle James, the founder of Rather-Be-Shopping.com, said retirees can look forward to big sales on high-tech vacuums. “[These are] commonly $100 to $300 off last year’s models on Cyber Monday. For retirees, these make it easy to schedule cleanings with much less bending. Or, use a five to seven pound cordless stick for quick pickups and non-slick floors.”
Laptops and Tablets
For grandparents and grandkids alike, James said Costco is probably going to have some pretty good deals for around 15% to 30% off laptops and tablets. “[These are] often with bundle add-ons (case, keyboard, longer warranty). [They are] useful for Zoom with the family, telehealth portals and bill pay. You can then turn on voice dictation and increase display size for comfort.”
Cookware
If you’re looking to upgrade your pots and pans, wait until Cyber Monday to do it. Jones predicted cookware could be on sale for as much as $100 off the typical price. “These products may be a real game changer in people’s lives, particularly when the retired seek to simplify the process of preparing meals without compromising on nutrition.”
Household Necessities
Though it might not be glamorous, Costco will probably discount household items like paper towels, cleaning supplies and personal care products for Cyber Monday. Jones said it’s a good idea for retirees to take advantage of those, as they can save them money in the year ahead. “Because most retirees receive fixed incomes, when they get such items on discount, they might invest in something that will make a difference in their lives, such as health or a vacation.”
