Dollar Tree has some of the lowest prices on Christmas items, but not everything is worth the low cost. Some holiday items may look cute on the shelf but fall apart quickly, have poor reviews or end up costing more money in the long run when you eventually have to replace them later.

Christmas Countdown Tabletop Decor
- Price: $5.00
Christmas countdown blocks are fun, especially for kids, but according to Dollar Tree shoppers, this one has a major flaw. There aren’t many reviews, but the majority of comments pointed out that the blocks of numbers do not work.
One shopper noted that it comes with two blocks, but each one has only one of each number. “So you can’t put 22, 33, 44, etc. … so you’re out of luck if you need a number that’s on the same cube,” one shopper wrote. “Other than that it’s super cute!”

Christmas House Multicolor Mini Lights, 20-Count Pack
- Price: $1.50
This 20-pack of multicolor mini lights from Christmas House comes at a great price, but it’s useful only if you’re decorating a very small artificial Christmas tree. “Very short lights just spend the extra money and buy the better quality ones,” a shopper wrote in the review section. “The lights could go around a mini Christmas tree.”
Christmas Tinsel Wreath
- Price: $6.00
These tinsel wreaths are only $6 each, but one shopper noted that they have a strong chemical smell that takes over the room. And if you want something fuller that will last longer, you may be able to get a better deal buying a slightly higher-quality wreath from Walmart, Michaels or Home Depot.
Assorted Artificial Noble Fir Unlit Christmas Tree
- Price: $6.00
Dollar Tree sells artificial Christmas trees in a range of sizes. While you can’t beat the price, these trees can be sparse once they’re out of the box. The branches are thin, and it takes some effort to get the tree completely fluffed. However, it’s still a good option if you’re working with a tight budget this Christmas.
Christmas House Prelit Garland
- Price: $5.00
This Christmas House prelit garland is a great option for low-cost projects, but it may not be the best for areas where you want a fuller, more polished look. The greenery is thin, so you might need to purchase several strands if you want a fuller look.
Editor’s note: Pricing and availability may vary depending on location.
