5 Best Prime Video Movies to Stream Now Before They Leave This Month

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson in "Godzilla" movie (2014).

The clock’s ticking on some standout movies leaving Prime Video this month, which means it’s your last chance to catch them before they disappear. The streamer is clearing out a mix of genres, from the monster mayhem of “Godzilla” to the nerve-shredding body horror of “Splinter,” plus a few more hidden gems you won’t want to miss.

Whether you’re in the mood for something dark and gripping or just want an old favorite for a weekend rewatch, these departing titles are worth making time for. Here are five Prime Video movies you’ll want to stream before they’re gone. And once you’re done, be sure to check what got added to the platform in August 2025.

‘Godzilla’ (2014)

In “Godzilla,” the story begins in Japan, where a nuclear power plant accident leaves scientist Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston) devastated by the mysterious death of his wife. Years later, Joe’s son Ford (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), a U.S. Navy officer, returns to help his father investigate the cause of the disaster.

Their search uncovers that the government has been concealing the existence of massive creatures known as MUTOs, which feed on radiation and are beginning to emerge across the globe. As the monsters wreak havoc, Ford is pulled into the chaos, struggling to reunite with his wife Elle (Elizabeth Olsen) and young son back in San Francisco. Amid the destruction, an ancient titan named Godzilla rises from the ocean.
