Diving into the NFL world, the five lines that appear to be a wee bit favorable are …
5. Green Bay at New Orleans
LINE: New Orleans -3
ATS PICK: Green Bay
– Bet on this, BetMGM latest line
At some point, this Green Bay offensive machine is going to slow down.
It ripped apart Minnesota for 43 points and 522 yards of total offense, and then it kept on rolling with 42 points and 488 yards in a blowout over Detroit.
Aaron Rodgers has been flawless, Aaron Jones has been devastating, and and everything is humming – it’s hitting 52% of its third down chances, has been great in the red zone, and it’s hitting big play after big play.
New Orleans has been fine in its 1-1 start, and the defense has been solid – the pass rush has been good – but the offense is missing the wide receiver production without Michael Thomas, and the team is coming off a Monday night loss out in Las Vegas.
Give the slightly more rested and far more efficient team the nod to potentially win this outright.

NEXT: Carolina at Los Angeles Chargers
4. Carolina at Los Angeles Chargers
LINE: LA Chargers -6.5
ATS PICK: LA Chargers
– Bet on this, BetMGM latest line
Just how much do you believe in Teddy Bridgewater?
He’s been good so far for the Panthers, but he only has one touchdown pass, and now he doesn’t have Christian McCaffrey to rely on.
The Charger offense should be able to pound away with Joshua Kelley and Austin Ekeler against a D that’s giving up close to five yards per carry, and the D that held Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow in relative check should be able to contain Bridgewater.
Justin Herbert will make a few mistakes, but not enough of them.
NEXT: Houston at Pittsburgh
3. Houston at Pittsburgh
LINE: Pittsburgh -4.5
ATS PICK: Houston
– Bet on this, BetMGM latest line
Call this the Look At The Opponents pick.
Everyone’s gushing over the Pittsburgh defense – and it really is that good – but it also got the break of starting out with a tune-up against the Giants and then against a Denver team that lost starting QB Drew Lock early on.
Even then, the offense didn’t explode – scoring 26 points in each game – and only beating the Broncos by five.
Meanwhile, all Houston has had to do is start out the season at Kansas City, and then follow that up with a date against Baltimore. Pittsburgh might be terrific, but the Texans now get to face a team that’s not one of the two best in the NFL.
The Texan running game won’t be there, but Deshaun Watson is a major step up for the Steeler D after facing Daniel Jones and Jeff Driskel.

NEXT: Detroit at Arizona
2. Detroit at Arizona
LINE: Arizona -5.5
ATS PICK: Arizona
– Bet on this, BetMGM latest line
The 0-2 Lions are overdue for a good all-around performance and a few breaks.
They had Chicago beaten, but collapsed in the fourth quarter and couldn’t close out a final game-winning drive, and last week they ran into the Green Bay offensive buzzsaw.
But Arizona really is playing just that well.
The offense is getting all of the publicity – Kyler Murray has this thing humming – but it’s the defensive side that’s stepping up. It’s not a brick wall, but it’s been fantastic on third downs and the pass rush has been terrific.
This should be a bit of a shootout, but the 5.5 isn’t asking for the world at home.
NEXT: Chicago at Atlanta
1. Chicago at Atlanta
LINE: Atlanta -3
ATS PICK: Atlanta
– Bet on this, BetMGM latest line
You are what your record is, but there isn’t a softer possible 2-0 than your 2020 Chicago Bears.
This team is just begging to get tagged.
Of course, making plays in key moments is everything, but the Bears survived a dropped touchdown pass that would’ve given Detroit the win in the opener. It also survived a few late chances by the Saquon Barkley-less Giants in a 17-13 win.
The offense hasn’t shown the ability to do anything consistently well, Mitchell Trubisky – while better – is still Mitchell Trubisky, and now the defense has to go up against a high-powered offense in desperation mode.
Let’s put it this way. If 0-2 Atlanta doesn’t win at home by more than three, there might be a new Falcon head coach next week.
