5 Best New SUVs Worth Every Penny

Buying a brand new SUV is a sizeable investment, so it makes sense for shoppers to do their research.

To hopefully avoid buyer’s remorse if a vehicle doesn’t meet expectations, it’s worth knowing which options are more likely to deliver the most value.

Here are five new models that industry experts think genuinely earn their price tags.

Audi Q6 E-tron

  • Manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) starts at: $65,095

The Audi Q6 E-tron focuses on “a perfect balance of comfort and agility,” according to Joe Giranda, director of sales and marketing at CFR Classic. It’s a combination that’s bound to appeal to drivers who want to go electric without sacrificing refinement.

Hyundai Palisade Hybrid

Giranda called the Palisade Hybrid “one of the best three-row hybrid SUVs, value-wise,” ideal for families needing the extra space. It also delivers in terms of comfort and tech, and its lower operating costs are an added bonus. Car media outlets TopSpeed and Road and Track also both rate this hybrid SUV highly.

Toyota RAV4

Luke Oswald, automotive specialist at Wheels Away, sees firsthand why some models lose value faster than others, and reasons include issues with reliability and safety.

He explained the RAV4’s strong results in independent crash testing help maintain both buyer confidence and the car’s value over time. TopSpeed’s evaluation backs this up, commending the RAV4 for its dependability and versatility.

Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V continues to succeed by doing the basics extremely well.

“It is no secret that the CR-V is known for strong fuel economy, a comfortable ride and a well-thought-out interior,” said Giranda.

Long-term reliability matters, especially for buyers who’d rather have consistency than constant redesigns. Its dependability keeps the CR-V firmly in the smart-buy category, with Road and Track even calling it “the whole package.”

Subaru Forester

Oswald also recommended the Forester, noting its solid safety record, which helps maintain driver confidence. For SUVs, a popular choice for families, the fact it’s safer, more dependable and easier to resell when the time comes is a strong reason to buy.

What Actually Makes These Worth It

Whatever the price bracket, these SUVs should earn their value by holding up over time and staying safe on the road. When it comes to choosing the right SUV, Oswald advised looking past the launch hype and paying attention to how a model performs over time in the used market. Those realities have a far bigger impact on long-term value than flashy features ever will.
