5 Best G-SYNC Gaming Monitors Of 2019

Best G-SYNC Monitors – RTINGS.COM

We buy our own products and put them under the same testing methodology so that you can easily compare them. Unlike most websites, we do not get our products directly from the manufacturers, which means our units aren’t handpicked and actually represent what you would buy yourself. We spend a lot of time comparing the products side-by-side to validate our results and we keep them until they are discontinued so we can continually go back and make sure our reviews are always accurate.

Even though NVIDIA now supports FreeSync on some monitors, a G-SYNC monitor is still the best choice if you want the best gaming experience on an NVIDIA graphics card. Although typically more expensive than their FreeSync equivalents, G-SYNC monitors come in all shapes and sizes, and even budget models offer a very good gaming experience at a reasonable price.

We’ve reviewed 60 monitors, and below are our top 5 picks for the best G-SYNC gaming monitors available for purchase in 2019.

ASUS ROG Swift PG279QZ: The best G-SYNC gaming monitor

ASUS PG279QZ – RTINGS.COM

Type: IPS
Refresh Rate: 144 Hz
Size: 27”

The ASUS ROG Swift PG279QZ is the best G-SYNC gaming monitor that we’ve tested so far. It delivers decent overall picture quality, with outstanding motion handling and excellent low input lag. It has an ultra-fast 144 Hz refresh rate, which is great, and the 1440p resolution delivers an excellent gaming experience without the steep performance requirements of a 4k gaming monitor.

It is an upgraded version of the PG279Q. The newer model performs almost identically but is a bit cheaper, but it also can’t get as bright as the old model, which may be disappointing if you have a bright room.

Unfortunately, the PG279QZ doesn’t look as good in a dark room, and it can’t get very bright, so viewing conditions are an important factor before choosing this monitor. Overall, it is a very good monitor for most uses, and it should please most people.

Dell AW3418DW: The best ultrawide G-SYNC gaming monitor

Dell AW3418DW – RTINGS.COM

Type: IPS
Refresh Rate: 100 Hz
Size: 34”

The Dell AW3418DW is the best ultrawide G-SYNC gaming monitor that we’ve tested so far. The high resolution, wide-format, curved screen delivers a more immersive gaming experience, and is great for PC gaming. It delivers decent overall picture quality, and the image remains accurate when viewed at an angle, great for quick co-op or competitive gaming sessions.

It has excellent motion handling, thanks to an incredibly fast response time, and a fast 100 Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate can also be overclocked to 120 Hz for even better motion handling, which is great.

Unfortunately, despite the mediocre native contrast ratio, the AW3418DW doesn’t look as good in a dark room, as it has poor black uniformity. It also can’t get very bright, so it isn’t a great choice for a bright room. Overall, though, it is a very good monitor that delivers great gaming performance that should please most people.

ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q: A great G-SYNC monitor with a less aggressive curve

ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q – RTINGS.COM

Type: IPS
Refresh Rate: 60 Hz
Size: 34”

If you like the Dell AW3418DW but would prefer a screen with a less aggressive curve, check out the ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q. It offers a very similar gaming performance to the Dell AW3418DW, including similar great motion handling and excellent low input lag. It defaults to a slower 60 Hz refresh rate, but this can easily be overclocked to 100 Hz from the monitor’s menus.

It delivers very similar picture quality to the AW3418DW, but is a bit brighter, which is great. However, it has more noticeable flashlighting, which can be distracting when gaming in a dark room.

Unfortunately, like the AW3418DW, the PG348Q doesn’t look as good in a dark room, and it has disappointing accuracy out of the box. Overall, though, it delivers a great gaming experience that should please even the most demanding gamer.
