CHATRA: Five fraudsters were arrested for duping job aspirants in Chatra and elsewhere, police said on Tuesday. During interrogation, those arrested admitted to collecting about Rs 1 crore from the aspirants. Police are looking for three more accomplices in the crime.
Those arrested were identified as Ajay Maurya and Shubham Tripathy of Indauli village in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Amit Kumar, Amrjeet Kumar and Rishikesh Kumar of Bhagalpur in Bihar.
SDPO Avinash Kumar said after the superintendent of police, Rakesh Ranjan, received a tip-off about these five criminals, who were cheating local youths by promising them jobs in railways, forest department and FCI, he formed a special team to nab them.
“The team raided Unta Mor on Monday and arrested all five. Three more are identified and will be arrested soon. They had admitted to cheating around 30 youths by falsely promising to provide jobs and collecting more than Rs 1 crore from the victims,” Kumar added.
