5 Rangers alternative Player of the Year candidates from Edouard to Nisbet as Ibrox men close in on clean sweep

The Rangers squad look set to clean-up when the individual awards are handed out at the end of the season, after Steven Gerrard 's rampant side crushed Celtic 's 10-in-a-row hopes in emphatic style - but who stands out as the best of the rest?

The likes of Connor Goldson, Allan McGregor, James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos are all set to be in the running for the Player of the Year gongs, but there's plenty of players out-with the Ibrox club who certainly deserve an honourable mention.

Kevin Nisbet

The Hibs hitman has terrorised defences this season with his pace and movement, banging in 12 goals so far and earning himself a place in Steve Clarke's latest Scotland squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Could the 24-year-old be our surprise package at this summer's European Championships? Let's hope so.

Odsonne Edouard

The Celtic striker endured a slow and slightly sulking start to the campaign, but it's been impossible to suppress the 23-year-old's natural ability, with Edouard climbing his way to the top of the Premiership's goal-scoring charts with 16 goals.

It's not quite hit the heights of last season, but Edouard's silky movement and clever all-round play in recent months has reminded the rest of the league just how good he is.

Having just been promoted from The Championship, Dundee United needed a safe pair of hands between the sticks, and in Benjamin Siegrist they've had exactly that and more.

The 29-year-old former Swiss Under-21 international has been solid, commanding and a leader for Micky Mellon's dogged side, chipping in with 13 clean-sheets from 33 games - leading to admiring glances from other clubs.

Jason Kerr

It looked like it could be a tricky campaign for St. Johnstone following the departure of Tommy Wright and the arrival of rookie boss Callum Davidson last summer, but the calming influence and outstanding displays of captain Jason Kerr have helped lead Saints to an outstanding season.

Winning the Betfred Cup was a truly historic moment for the McDiarmid Park side, and a top-six finish was secured just a few weeks later - all with Kerr leading by example.

Martin Boyle

Boyle has recovered from a slow start to the season (SNS Group)

The Australian international endured something of a slow start to the season but his raw pace, energy and talent have seen him regain his status as one of Hibs' most important players.

In fact, Boyle finds himself as the Premiership's joint-third top scorer this season, with 11 goals, as well as another five assists.
