5 AI Tools That Help You Score a Better Deal on Cars

It seems like artificial intelligence has seeped into every corner of our lives, and car buying is no different.

Fortunately, AI can truly smooth out the car buying process. From the initial research to the final contract, try these AI tools to take some of the guesswork out of buying.

Smart Search: AI Shopping Assistant

Car research and shopping platforms Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader.com both now incorporate AI Shopping Assistant.

“The Shopping Assistant answers questions in real-time, guides shoppers through next steps and connects them with vehicles that match their preferences and budget,” explained Jessica Stafford of Cox Automotive, which owns both websites. “Buyers can compare options, understand market pricing and act quickly on competitive offers to score a great deal.”

Smart Price Alerts: Visualping

Want price alerts when a specific car or model within your price range becomes available in your city?

You can use the AI-powered Visualping.io to monitor websites for just about anything you want. Visualping’s CEO Serge Salager explained how it works: “To truly score a great deal on a car, you need to be the first to know when a price changes. Visualping can monitor any vehicle listing and send real-time price drop alerts across any dealership and aggregator site.”

Vehicle History: Carvia

Plenty of websites offer vehicle history reports based on a used car’s VIN. However, not all of them can spot inconsistencies or not-so-obvious red flags

Most shoppers jump between listings, history reports, pricing guides and forum advice. Carson White of Carvia.ai pointed out that AI excels at that kind of data analysis and cutting through noise. “The system spots patterns that the average buyer wouldn’t catch,” he explained. “A car might look clean and well priced with low miles, but the mileage pattern doesn’t line up with the service events, or the title moved states in a way that’s unusual. When the AI highlights something like that, it gives the buyer a reason to ask the right questions instead of negotiating blind.”

Negotiation: CarEdge AI Negotiator Tool

Hate haggling? The new CarEdge AI Car Negotiator can do it for you.

The tool recommends fair pricing, and can anonymously contact dealerships on your behalf. From there, it helps you compare offers and can communicate counteroffers to deals for you.

CarEdge says their negotiator saves buyers an average of $2,200 on their car purchases. Users report saving over 10 hours on buying their cars, and rate it 4.9 stars out of five.

Contract Review: CarEdge AI Car Deal Reviewer

While it hasn’t gone public yet, CarEdge is preparing to launch a second AI tool. The AI Car Deal Reviewer analyzes purchase agreements in seconds, highlighting hidden markups, fees and financing terms. “Just upload your car deal document online, for free, and the AI instantly tells you if you’re getting ripped off,” explained Zach Shefska, CEO of CarEdge. “It’s fast, private and completely free.”

Keep an eye out for it in the coming months, and combined with the other tools above, let AI do most of the grunt work of buying a new car.
