49ers player tests positive for COVID-19

Several 49ers players got together to work out in Nashville, not unlike what the Arizona Cardinals players were scheduled to do in Dallas with quarterback Kyler Murray. However, according to a report, one of the 49ers players tested positive for the coronavirus. Other players are awaiting the results of their tests.
WR Richie James suffers broken hand

Despite no organized on-field practices for the 49ers or any other team, San Francisco’s top returner Richie James has gotten hurt. James broke his wrist while working out and is expected to be out a couple of months.
WR Deebo Samuel breaks foot, has surgery

Samuel’s rookie season has him primed to be the team’s No. 1 receiver in 2020. However, he has suffered an offseason injury. He suffered a broken bone in his foot while working out with teammates in Nashville and needs surgery. The timeline for his return is expected to be three to four months. He, however, is optimistic of a quick recovery and return.
Kyle Shanahan signs contract extension

The 49ers are pleased with the work of their head coach. Going from 2-14 to Super Bowl runner-ups, Kyle Shanahan has earned a contract extension. His new deal will make him one of the top-five highest-paid coaches and locks him up through 2025.
49ers sign Colton McKivitz

The 49ers had one of their draft picks sign their contract. The first to sign is fifth-round pick Colton McKivitz, an offensive lineman out of West Virginia.
