May 05--The FBI is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted for a shooting that wounded two young girls playing in a Northwest Side park in 2011.
Dionisio Gonzalez, 35, has been charged with flight from prosecution and has been the subject of a nationwide manhunt coordinated by the Chicago FBI office since June of 2011, the FBI said in a statement.
Gonzalez and another man, Antonio Bucio, intended to shoot members of a rival gang on June 8, 2011 but instead hit two girls -- ages 7 and 2 -- as they played at Avondale Park, 3516 W. School St. around 7:45 p.m.
The older girl was shot in the back and the younger girl suffered a graze wound to the head.
Bucio was arrested a short time after the shooting and charged with one count of aggravated battery with a handgun.
Gonzalez has not been seen in the Chicago area since the shooting, the FBI said.
Gonzalez has relatives and associates in Florida, and his last known address in Chicago was 3029 W. Belden Ave., according to the FBI statement.
Gonzalez is about 5-foot-8 and weighs 135 to 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and has often had a mustache or goatee, authorities said.
Gonzalez has four tattoos. One on his chest reads, "Death before dishonor" and he has "Maniac" on his left arm. A third tattoo, on his left forearm, reads "Lil Dio" and the fourth on his back is "Logan" and includes the image of a gun, the FBI said.
Anyone with information can call the Chicago FBI office at 312-421-6700 or the nearest law enforcement agency. Gonzalez should be considered armed and dangerous, the FBI said.
