4G network DOWN in Dublin as Vodafone investigate major outage

Dubliners across the city are suffering from a loss of 4G signal as mobile company Vodafone confirmed it is investigating a major outage.

The outage appears to be affecting customers across the capital.

Customers have taken to social media to vent their frustration at the situation.

One said: "Any update on the data outage? No data on the phone in Dundrum Dublin. 4G symbol is displaying."

Another added: "Is there a problem with service in the Dublin 22 area, 4g symbol on but not connecting.

Vodafone took to Twitter to confirm they are investigating the problem.

They said: "We are currently investigating a potential outage to our fixed and mobile services.

"We thank you for your patience as we work to get this resolved."

A Vodafone spokeswoman later confirmed the issue had been resolved.

She said: "Vodafone Ireland has identified the root cause of an issue that affected some Vodafone mobile data and broadband services this afternoon.

"This issue has now been fully resolved and normal service has been restored to customers.

"We thank you for your patience and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused."
