The 49ers’ Week 8 uniform announcement came a bit earlier than normal, although it’s easy to understand why. They were clearly excited to announce that they’d be rocking arguably the best uniform in football when they take the field Sunday at home against the Carolina Panthers.
These are the throwbacks to the 1994 season, which were throwbacks to the 1955 campaign as part of the league’s 75th anniversary celebration.
The 49ers are hoping their foray into mid-90s fashion goes better than it did last time. San Francisco debuted the all whites last year at home against the Los Angeles Rams. LA proceeded to wallop the 49ers 39-10 in a game that somehow wasn’t even as close as the final score.
